The festival Rock For Church (ill) belongs this year again to one the most interesting festivals in Czech Republic. It started almost 11 years ago as a small festival with the intention to financially support the baroque church of St. Jacob. On the same time the festival supported local bands and artists. With the time the festival got more and more professional and the artists more and more international, so that this year Rock For Church (ill) is a pearl in the Czech festival scene. More than 5000 people are expected to rock over the last weekend in August in the small town Vroutek.

The various line-up holds something for everybody, from Rock over Pop, to Electro and Reggae. The international headliners this year are Stereo MCs (GB), Transglobal Underground (GB), Max Romeo (JAM) and Doreen Shaffer (JAM). But that’s not all. There will be many great Czech bands and international and national deejays.

Where? : Vroutek is a small town, to the west of Prague, very close to the German boarder. Next bigger towns in the area are Podbořany and Žatec.
Vroutek is 90 km away from Prague. From Dresden 140 km, from
Bayreuth 170 km, from Regensburg 230 km and from Chemnitz just 100 km away.

Arrival: From Prague it is the best to go via Pilsen.
Arrival on Friday Pilsen – Žatec:

If you are coming from another city, just have a look at www.idos.cz (for bus and train) and www.mapy.cz (for car).

When? : The festival begins on Friday, 27th of August. The arrival is already on Thursday possible,because the first band starts on Friday already at 1p.m.

Camping: Camping and parking is for free.

Service: The festival is fully equipped. There will be tents with drinks and food (nice prices) and enough toilets.

Security: Security, fire service and first aid will be on the spot.

Tickets: It is possible to buy tickets online at www.ticketportal.cz and www.sazkaticket.cz. One ticket for the whole weekend costs online 490Kc + fees (cca.20 Euro). The ticket on the spot costs 650Kc (cca.26 Euro) for the whole weekend. The daily ticket costs 400Kc (cca.16 Euro).

Not to forget: Please don’t leave your private stuff in the tent, better take it during the festival with you. At the whole area will be security, but thieves can be everywhere, so don’t let them destroy your weekend!
